In order to accumulate, localize and provide an access to different resources on educational purpose, Information Resource Center was established at Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent in 2010.
A two-story building, which can accommodate up to 250 visitors with fifty electronic desks with an access to internet, was placed at the disposal of IRC.
Moreover, an offline library, a local server has up to 100 thousand electronic materials and resources distributed by means of electronic desktops via local network. The open fund has up to 20 thousand books.
In order to provide a high quality service for visitors and students and remove the human factor for the most part of the library process, the ARMAT ++ database has been implemented.
This software program allows the user to register online and get the access to electronic resources of the IRC, as well as run his personal account in the remote mode.
Subsequently, the librarian, using the QR code reader, enters the issued book into the visitor’s personal account.
ARMAT ++ provides a function to search for the material by keywords, if necessary, it is possible to download material by means of a direct link. Also, basic learning material can be downloaded using a QR code. The stand-catalog with book QR соde is conveniently located outside the library at the entrance hall of Academic building.
