TTPU Hosts International Conference on Sustainable Transportation

On 15–16 September of this year, Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent (TTPU) hosted an international conference on “Emerging Trends and Challenges in Sustainable Transportation” within the framework of the Erasmus+ CBHE SPHERE project.

The event, attended by the European Union Delegation to Uzbekistan, leading experts from Uzbekistan and Europe, and representatives of higher education institutions, was officially opened by TTPU Vice-Rector Bakhtiyor Yokubov.

During the conference, the main plenary presentations focused on trends in the development of the electric and hybrid vehicle market in Uzbekistan. In parallel sessions, discussions covered sustainable transport and decarbonization strategies, urban transport and the transition to electric mobility, innovations in transport education and research, as well as the legal and policy frameworks for sustainable mobility. Additionally, special meetings within the SPHERE project framework addressed inter-university scientific collaboration, quality assurance, financial matters, and plans for implementing new educational programs and training sessions.

Furthermore, the conference included the official opening ceremony of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Laboratory, which is expected to take transport-related research and innovation activities to a new level.
