An international roundtable on “Knowledge Creation in Central Asia: Innovation, Sustainability, and Academic Cooperation” was held

On March 17, 2025, the international roundtable discussion on the theme “Knowledge Creation in Central Asia: Innovation, Sustainability, and Academic Cooperation” was held at Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent.

The event brought together representatives from Italy and Uzbekistan, including officials from various ministries, research institutions, and higher education institutions. The roundtable was officially opened by the Italian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Piergabriele Papadia de Bottini and Rector of Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent Olimjon Tuychiev.

During the discussions, participants explored the prospects for enhancing academic cooperation, implementing joint projects in innovation and sustainability, as well as expanding collaboration in key areas such as agriculture, water resource management, environmental protection, and energy sustainability. Agreements were reached to further strengthen cooperation in these fields.

Additionally, important decisions were made to foster knowledge exchange, technological development, education, and innovation between Italy and Central Asian countries. The parties also agreed to establish academic mobility under the Erasmus+ program and organize a summer school at Milan Bicocca University.
