International Scientific and Practical Conference on “Improving Earthquake Resilience of Building Structures through technical capacity building” commenced at Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent

At the beginning of the event, a university tour was organized for the guests, during which they were introduced to the university’s scientific laboratories, modern educational facilities and innovative research in the field of earthquake resilience. This was followed by the formal opening ceremony, where TTPU Rector Olimjon Tuychiev officially inaugurated the conference, emphasizing the importance of scientific research in earthquake resilience and the significance of international collaboration.

During the plenary discussions, key topics included improving seismic safety for urban infrastructure and cultural heritage sites, advanced modeling techniques for designing earthquake-resistant structures, and the use of modern geomatic technologies in seismic monitoring and forecasting.

Additionally, as part of the event, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent and the Competence Development Institute under the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This memorandum aims to strengthen collaboration in scientific projects, professional training, technical research, and the development of innovative construction technologies.
