Opening of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Laboratory at TTPU!

In order to facilitate the activities of the project and its further sustainability, the university council approved establishment of laboratory on sustainable urban mobility in the premises of the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. The approval was done on December 27th, 2024 by the decision of the University council №10/24.

The laboratory on Sustainable Urban Mobility was officially presented to the project Consortium on September 15th, 2025 as part of International conference “Emerging trends and challenges in Sustainable Transportation” (http://bit.ly/3Wpw03n ).

This laboratory has been established within the framework of the Erasmus+ SPHERE project and is equipped with advanced research and diagnostic tools to support hands-on education, applied research, and innovation in sustainable and smart transportation.

🛠 Laboratory equipment includes:

  • VBOX 4 100Hz GNSS Data Logger and IMU-05 — for high-precision vehicle dynamics, braking.
  • Brake pedal force & trigger measurement system — for advanced brake system studies (including regenerative braking analysis)
  • Tyre temperature monitoring system — for thermal and efficiency studies in real driving scenarios
  • Kvaser CAN bus interface & J1939 adapter — for EV data acquisition, ECU communication, and smart vehicle analysis
  • EV smart diagnostic system & key programmer — for electric and hybrid vehicle diagnostics and system testing
  • ADAS calibration system (Launch ADAS Lite) — for calibration and research of intelligent safety systems (ADAS, radar, cameras)

🎓 The lab will serve as a platform for:

  • Practical training in sustainable transport, intelligent systems, and EV diagnostics
  • Research on electric & hybrid vehicles, regenerative braking, energy efficiency, and urban mobility modeling
  • Development of student and researcher skills in CAN communication, ADAS calibration, and vehicle testing
  • Collaboration with industry, municipalities, and international universities on smart mobility initiatives
  • Supporting bachelor, master, and PhD projects in the field of sustainable urban mobility and smart transport technologies

🌍 This milestone reinforces our commitment to shaping the next generation of mobility engineers and contributing to Uzbekistan’s transition toward a clean, innovative, and sustainable transport ecosystem.
