In 2025, Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent (TTPU) actively implemented the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility Programme aimed at strengthening the institutional capacity of the university, developing international cooperation, and exchanging best academic and administrative practices. Within the framework of this programme, TTPU sent several staff members to leading European higher education institutions, including Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (Lithuania) and Politecnico di Torino (Italy).
As part of an official visit to Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH) in November 2025, the Head of Educational-Methodological Department of TTPU, Sanjar Mirzaliyev, carried out a comprehensive set of activities aimed at developing academic and research cooperation, as well as exchanging experience in the fields of transport engineering, logistics, and sustainable development.
During the visit, working meetings were held with the Head and Senior Manager of the International Relations Office of VILNIUS TECH, Aleksandra Sokolova and Lina Petruskane. The discussions focused on prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation, mechanisms for implementing joint educational and research initiatives, and issues related to enhancing academic mobility for students and faculty members. The university campus and infrastructure were presented, including the activities of students and researchers at the Sustainability Center, which allowed for an in-depth study of VILNIUS TECH’s interdisciplinary research and sustainability practices.
Special attention was paid to cooperation with the Faculty of Transport Engineering of VILNIUS TECH. Meetings were held with the Dean of the Faculty, Prof Dr Olegas Prentkovskis, and the Vice-Dean, Prof Dr Edgar Sokolovskij, during which issues of mutual cooperation were discussed, including the development of joint educational programmes, implementation of scientific research, and participation in international projects. In addition, laboratories, training facilities, experimental and design equipment, and research infrastructure were examined. Visits to educational and research laboratories provided insight into the modern experimental base used in both educational and research processes.
A significant part of the visit was devoted to educational and academic outreach activities. Lectures were delivered to undergraduate students of the “Logistics and Transport Management” programme on transport hubs in Central Asia, contributing to the expansion of students’ knowledge of regional transport systems and the formation of an international academic learning context. Information about Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent, its educational programmes, and research activities was also presented to students and faculty members, generating strong interest in further cooperation and academic exchange.
Within the framework of research cooperation, a seminar entitled “The Role of Universities in the Development of Entrepreneurial Ecosystems” was organized with the participation of academic staff from the Faculty of Transport Engineering of VILNIUS TECH. The seminar served as a platform for discussing the role of higher education institutions in innovation development, technology transfer, and collaboration with industry. In addition, a lecture was delivered for master’s students in the field of Transport Engineering, during which recently published scientific articles and key research results obtained by the author were presented.

Throughout 2025, staff members of Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent (TTPU) also participated in the Staff Mobility Programme at Politecnico di Torino (Italy), aimed at exchanging managerial, academic, and organizational experience and enhancing the institutional capacity of the university. The implementation of this programme contributed to strengthening cooperation between TTPU and PoliTO and to harmonizing TTPU’s internal processes with international academic and administrative practices.
As part of the Staff Mobility Programme, significant results were achieved and practice-oriented experience was gained, covering key areas of university activity.
In September 2025, the Head of the Research Department and Master’s Faculty, Javlon Karimov, during his visit, held a series of meetings with the Head of International Relations and Cooperation Division of Politecnico di Torino (INCAM), Augusta Roux, as well as with department staff. He became familiar with the organization and management of master’s programmes at PoliTO, mechanisms for integrating research into the educational process, and procedures for supervising master’s students. Particular attention was paid to issues of academic supervision, monitoring students’ academic progress, and organizing the defense of graduation theses. The acquired experience is planned to be used to improve TTPU’s master’s programmes, enhance research quality, and expand academic mobility opportunities for master’s students.

In July 2025, the Head of the Department of Management, Economics, and Humanities, Abror Hoshimov, and a lecturer of the department, Kamila Sultanova, studied modern teaching methodologies in management, economics, and humanities, practices for developing and updating curricula in line with labor market requirements and international educational standards, as well as forms of interaction between departments and industry partners and employers. The acquired approaches will enable curriculum modernization, the introduction of innovative pedagogical methods, and the strengthening of the practice-oriented component of the educational process at TTPU.

In June 2025, during Staff Mobility, Vice-Dean Farkhod Makhkamov paid special attention to the student support system at PoliTO, including academic advising and mentoring, organization of extracurricular activities and student services, procedures for the adaptation of international students, and the development of an inclusive educational environment. The knowledge and best practices obtained will contribute to improving the quality of student services at TTPU and enhancing learning conditions and social adaptation of students.
