From October 30 to November 13, 2025, numerous international delegations are participating in the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference taking place in the city of Samarkand, including the Permanent Delegate of the Republic of Tunisia to UNESCO, Ambassador to Paris, and seasoned diplomat Dhia Khaled, who is actively participating in the event.

Alisher Ashurov, First Vice-Rector of Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent, warmly welcomed the Ambassador and presented commemorative gifts allocated by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

During the event, Mr. Dhia Khaled visited the historical architectural monuments of Samarkand. After becoming acquainted with Registan Square, the Gur-e-Amir Mausoleum, and other landmarks, the Ambassador expressed deep admiration for Uzbekistan’s unique cultural heritage, the refined taste of our people, and their hospitality. He particularly noted that this visit provided not only an introduction to rich history, but also an opportunity to feel the spirit of our nation.
